For the first time in 25 years, Opera Colorado will raise the curtain on The Tales of Hoffmann, which comes to life in the stories of a poet obsessed with four remarkable women - and the four villains bent on his destruction. Accompanied by lush music and incredible designs, the opera tours a dramatic dreamscape populated with beautiful courtesans and magical portraits.

WINTER 2010 ISSUE

The Barber of Seville
February 6-14, 2010
The charming production surrounds Figaro joining forces with Count Almaviva to win the object of his obsession, the beautiful Rosina. Pure joy and silliness abound in an opera filled with disguise, mistaken identities and madcap mayhem. The traditional setting and costumes help this comic masterpiece spring forth to the delight of patrons.

SPRING 2010 ISSUE

Tosca
April 24 - May 2, 2010
Puccini’s intense drama is set among the historical landmarks of Rome as Napoleon Bonaparte advances on the empire. The prima donna Floria Tosca experiences love and deception as the intensity builds, finally opting to take her own life. The production comes to Denver from the San Francisco Opera.
