Newman Center
Utilizing a distinct square format, the Newman Center Presents magazine offers readers a synopsis of the season’s performances. Additionally, readers can find insight from the executive director, information about various aspects of arts available on the University of Denver campus and details about the Behind the Curtain discussion series. NewmanCenter Presents Series
The eclectic and always exciting Newman Center Presents series offers socially relevant programming designed to entertain audiences while exploring new ideas. For seven seasons, the series has engaged audiences with world music, dance and theatre. Terry Gross, Joshua Bell, Bobby McFerrin, Peter Cincotti, the London Symphony Chorus, Dianne Reeves and Manhattan Transfer are among the artists who have electrified the stage of Gates Concert Hall.
June Swaner Gates Concert Hall
The prestigious University of Denver campus is home to the 190,000-square-foot Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts, which contains three performance venues and an academic building where the Lamont School of Music resides. The June Swaner Gates Concert Hall, the primary venue of the Newman Center Presents series, provides the atmosphere of an elegant European opera house. A professional-size stage, orchestra pit and fly tower permit the most ambitious operatic, musical and dance shows. An orchestra shell enables a full symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra or chamber music group to take advantage of the hall’s superb acoustics.
